These geodes are sourced from Madagascar. Geodes are formed when a cavity is created inside of a rock. Quartz geodes are most commonly formed in igneous rock created by cooling magma or larva. A bubble forms and as the rock cools an empty space is left behind. Eventually, over thousands of years, mineral rich water seeps into this empty space. The water deposits layers of minerals that become the quartz crystals.
